Why do I care if the registration papers are AKC or not, aren't other registries just as good? |
All our puppies come with American Kennel Club (AKC) registration papers. All our dogs are AKC registered. AKC has been around for more than 100 years. They are the group that put on the dog shows that you see on Animal Planet, such as the Eukanuba Classis and The Westminster Dog Show in New York. In order to participate in the dog shows your dog must be AKC registered. AKC also requires that we keep very accurate records of our dogs and DNA's all our sires (dads). The AKC supports health research for our dog friends with the Canine Health Foundation. The Canine Health Foundations provides grants for research for genetic defeacts. AKC also provides scholarships for vet students to help educate the next generation that will be taking care of our dogs. The American Kennel Club supported the disaster relief efforts of all pets (not just dogs) during the 9-11 tragedy and the Katrina and Rita Hurricanes.
